America the Beautiful is a 56-coin series that includes five new designs each year. The Kisatchie Coin is the second coin from the 2015 production year. In total, the coin series will honor all 50 states, five territories, and the federal district of the United States. The program is scheduled to conclude in 2021.
On the reverse side of the coin is the image of a native waterfowl from northern Louisiana. The bird can be seen taking flight from the grasslands of Kisatchie. Engravings on this side include Louisiana, Kisatchie, and E Pluribus Unum.
The obverse side of the coin features the popular left-profile bust of President George Washington. The image, commonly found on American quarters, was designed in 1932 by John Flanagan using an original 1786 sculpting of the president by William Cousins as inspiration.
Each coin in this product listing has a near-perfect grade of MS69, which means the coin has its full, original luster and no more than two detracting marks or minor blemishes.
