The 2015 1 oz Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark Coin is available in brilliant uncirculated condition. Each year, the Noah’s Ark series is produced by the Geiger Edelmetalle Mint on behalf of the nation of Armenia. The coins are minted with .999 pure silver and have featured the same design each year since they were introduced.

In the book of Genesis, God sends a devastating flood to cleanse the world of sin. One man and his family were chosen to survive the flood, and save the animals of the world from God’s wrath. The story of Noah’s Ark is well known around the world, and its imagery is used on the Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark Coin.
The nation of Armenia has a deep connection to the biblical story of Noah’s Ark. In the story, Noah and his family land on the side of Mount Ararat when the flood waters finally subside following weeks in the boat with animals. Mount Ararat was, historically, a fixture within Armenia. Following the devastation of World War I, the nation was split between the Soviet Union and Turkey, with the whole of Mount Ararat falling under Turkish control.
On the obverse side of 2015 1 oz Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark Coins is the national coat of arms for Armenia. Flanked by an eagle on the left and a lion on the right, the national emblem includes Mount Ararat at the center of a shield. The phrase “Republic of Armenia” is featured on this side in both English and Armenian.
The reverse side of the coin uses the depiction of the Noah’s Ark as it floats on the flood waters. In the background is Mount Ararat, with the rising sun peaking over the ridge. Noah’s Ark is visible floating in the water in the middle ground, while a dove carrying an olive branch is visible in the foreground.
Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark coins have the same motif each year, much like the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf and American Silver Eagle. The Leipziger Edelmetallverarbeitung facility is a modern manufacturing center in the German city of Leipzig. Even though these coins are not minted in Armenia, they are still considered legal tender within the country, holding a face value of 500 Drams.
