This 2015 1 oz Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark Coin has been certified by the NGC as being in perfect Mint State 70 condition. Minted by Geiger Edelmetalle on behalf of the Armenian Government, each coin contains one troy ounce of .999 pure silver and has a legal tender value of 500 Drams. Coin Highlights:
The Noah’s Ark bullion coin series was first authorized by the Republic of Armenia in 2011. Since that time they have been offered in a wide selection of weights including 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz, 1 oz, 5 oz, 10 oz and 1 kilogram. Though these coins are minted on behalf of the Government of Armenia and have a legal tender value within the country, they are minted by Germany’s prestigious Geiger Edelmetalle Mint located in the city of Leipzig.
All the coins in the series each feature the same design which celebrates the nation of Armenia by commemorating the biblical tale of Noah’s Ark which was believed to have landed on Mount Ararat. Though the Mountain Range is no longer located in Armenia due to a border relocation after World War I, it still somewhat stands as a national landmark for the country.
On the front of each coin sits the Armenian Coat of Arms which includes a lion and an eagle standing behind a shield. The name “Republic of Armenia” is inscribed below and above the coat of arms in both English and Armenian respectively. The face value and minting year are struck directly below with the weight and purity offset to the right side. The back of the coin shows a scene from the biblical story, with Noah’s Ark floating in a sea of water. Mount Ararat is shown off in the background with the words “Noah’s Ark” encircling it.
The coins featured in this listing have each been certified and graded by the Numismatic Guarantee Corporation as being in perfect Mint State condition (MS70). This means that they have no imperfections, even at 5x magnification. These coins will ship sealed in their original NGC coin slabs which both protect the coin and display their condition, as well as a unique serial number which can be authenticated using the NGC website.
