Mexican Silver Libertad coins are the official silver bullion coin of Mexico, and were introduced in 1982 with just a 1 oz weight available. Today, the coin series has grown to include a total of eight different weights, with 1/20 oz, 1/10 oz, oz, oz, 2 oz, 5 oz, and 1 kilogram coins also available from the Mexican Mint.
Each of the coins available through this product listing has a near-perfect grade from the NGC. An MS69 coin has its full, original luster, with a maximum of two minor detracting flaws visible on its surface.
The obverse side of all Mexican Silver Libertads features the depiction of the angel of victory statue from the center of Mexico City. Known as Winged Victory, she is visible in the foreground with the peaks of Mexicos prominent twin volcanoes visible behind her.
On the reverse side of the coin is the image of the national coat of arms. On these particular coins, the modern coat of arms is featured in the middle, with 10 historic versions of the coat of arms encircling it. Additional engravings include Estados Unidos Mexicanos above the modern coat of arms.
All Mexican Silver Libertad coins are produced at the Mexican Mint under the direction of the Banco de Mexico.
