Each of the 2014 $150 Canadian Gold Year of the Horse coins in this product listing from JM Bullion has a Brilliant Uncirculated grade. Coins in BU condition show no signs of wear and tear, but do exhibit breaks in the luster, spotted surfaces, and contact marks from the striking process.
On the reverse side of the coin is the image of a horse galloping, which was the creation of Cheung for the gold gram coins. In addition to this there are engravings of the nation of issue, the year of issue, the coin’s face value, and the Chinese symbol for horse.
The obverse features the common design theme used on all Canadian coins. Queen Elizabeth II’s right-profile portrait is on the obverse, and was created in 2003 by Susanna Blunt. This side includes the simple engravings of Her Majesty’s name and the phrase “D.G. Regina.”
The Royal Canadian Mint was founded in 1908 by the ruling British colonial powers to refine and product precious metal products using sources found in the Yukon Territories. Over the course of more than 100 years, the Royal Canadian Mint has earned a reputation as one of the greatest facilities in the world.
