Launching its new Shengxiao Collection, the mint has released this first coin in the series in celebration of the Chinese Zodiac Calendar and, specifically, the Year of the Horse — 2014. Every 2014 1 oz Silver British Horse is stamped with the inscriptions ‘Year of the Horse.’ Coins are also stamped with the Chinese character for ‘horse.’ The design of this horse is finely wrought; customers will note how the tail and horse’s mane appear to blow in the breeze. Depicted in mid-gallop, this silver horse, designed by artist Wuon-Gean Ho, is an outstanding BRM offering. The obverse side of the coin features Elizabeth II wearing her regal tiara.
