While as many four contact marks can be visible, only a total of two can occur on any major focal point. As a protective measure, every coin has remained sealed in its own NGC certified slab.
For the official anniversary logo, artists overlapped a large “25” on top of the original maple leaf design. In order to make sure that the beloved icon was still distinguishable, the intricate details of the leaf have remained the same. Parts of the leaf have also been strategically exposed so that collectors could appreciate the skillful engraving. Equally as familiar to collectors is the reverse side of the coin, which prominently displays the profile of Queen Elizabeth II. This effigy has been kept in its original state to reflect Canada’s unwavering loyalty to the British monarch even if they are no longer under British rule.
