One of the more unique coin designs available today comes from a German mint producing sovereign coins for the Eastern European nation of Armenia. The tale of Noah’s Ark from the book of Genesis is featured proudly on the obverse side of the 2013 1 oz Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark coin, available now from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:

- Issued a face value of 500 Drams by the Armenian government.
- Considered a perfect coin by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation.
- Struck by Germany’s Geiger Edelmetalle.
- Ships in an NGC plastic slab.
The Armenian Silver Noah’s Ark coin is official legal tender in the nation and is considered the official silver bullion coin of the country. Although the coins were only recently introduced (2011), it is among the more popular coins on the European continent. Like many other national silver bullion coin programs, the motif on these coins does not change from year to year.
Each coin available to you today through this JM Bullion listing has a perfect grade of Mint State 70. These coins all have their full, original luster, and no blemishes, contact marks, or detracting flaws visible on any surface.
On the reverse side of each coin is Eduard Kurghinyan’s depiction of the landing of Noah’s Ark. In the image, the ark is visible floating atop the flood waters in the middle of the coin. A dove with an olive branch is featured in the foreground, while the sun rises over the top of Mount Ararat in the background.
The obverse side of the coin features the coat of arms for the Republic of Armenia, along with the coin’s weight, purity, metal content, and face value. Phrases engraved on these coins are featured in both English and Armenian.
Germany’s Geiger Edelmetalle was founded in 1218 in the nation’s silver-rich Saxony region. It is one of the state mints of Germany, and calls the city of Leipzig home.
