This 2012 reverse proof edition of the popular American Silver Eagle Coin was produced at the San Francisco branch of the US Mint. Originally released on November 24, 1986, the American Silver Eagle is the official silver bullion coin of the U.S. This particular coin features an Ultra Cameo finish with a high level of contrast between the frosted and reflective portions of the design.
Each proof coin has been minted from 1 oz of 99.9% pure silver, giving it a legally tender face value of $1 USD. All coins included in this collection have been carefully evaluated by the NGC and designated a grade of PF (Proof) 70 UCAM (Ultra Cameo), indicating their perfect mint condition. To ensure the protection of their condition during the transport process, every coin remains sealed in their official PCGS certified coin slab.
Depicted on the obverse of the coin is Adolph A. Weinman’s “Walking Liberty” design. It portrays Liberty crossing a field to meet the rising sun. She wears a toga, bearing the stars and stripes of our nation’s flag. In one arm, she carries a bundle of laurel and oak branches. The other stretches out before her in a gesture of invitation. Weinman’s Liberty reflects the generosity and graciousness that our nation extends to the many immigrants coming to the US in search of better opportunities. Also appearing on the obverse of the coin is the phrase, “In God We Trust.”
The reverse side of the coin prominently displays the Great Seal of the U.S. This iconic emblem consists of a spread winged eagle carrying an oversized shield. In its beak, it holds a scroll bearing the words, “E Pluribus Unum” while its opposing talons balance a set of arrows with an olive branch.
