American Silver Eagle coins are the single most popular precious metal product in the world today. This breaks the previous record of 44 million, set just a year earlier in 2014. Today, the 2012-W Proof American Silver Eagle is available from JM Bullion in perfect condition.

2012 was a unique striking year for the American Silver Eagle. In addition to these standard “W” proof coins from the West Point Mint, a total of two other proof American Silver Eagle coins were struck. First there were the Proof American Silver Eagles struck at the San Francisco Mint as part of the 75th anniversary of that mint’s opening. The coins were sold in the San Francisco American silver Eagle Two-Coin Proof Set, and featured a standard proof and reverse proof coin.
Later in 2012, the US Mint issued a Making American History Coin and Currency Set. In addition to a series 2009 five-dollar bill, another Proof American Silver Eagle struck in San Francisco was included in the set. The collector’s set honored the 220th anniversary of the US Mint and the 150th anniversary of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.
These 2012-W Proof American Silver Eagle coins are all perfect specimens according to the NGC. A coin with a Proof 70 grade has its full, original mint luster, and shows no signs of wear and tear or blemishes of any kind.
Additionally, the ultra-cameo designation identifies the beautiful finish of these coins. Each has a strong, frosted finish on the design set, with a deeply-mirrored, clear background field that provides stunning contrast.
On the obverse is the image of Walking Liberty created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman. The reverse bears the image of the heraldic eagle, created by US Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti in 1986.
