The 1/2 oz Proof American Gold Eagle Coin issued in 2011 was the lowest minted coin in the batch. Its mintage figure was 22,000 lower than the 1 oz coin, which topped the group of four coins in terms of sales figures. The United States Mint set a mintage cap for the 1/2 oz Proof Gold Eagle at 15,000 coins for the 2011 release.
While the 2011 1/2 oz Proof American Gold Eagle Coin managed to sell out its individual mintage figure, the coins did not sell out completely. The 1/2 oz coin was also available in the 2011 4-Coin Proof American Gold Eagle Set, which did not experience a sellout for its total of 40,000 coins.
All of the 2011 1/2 oz Proof American Gold Eagles in this listing earned PF70 certifications from the NGC. Considered perfect specimens, these coins have full, original mint luster with no detracting flaws present on the design elements or background fields. The UCAM designation is reserved for coins with strong, frosted matte designs and deeply-mirrored, clear backgrounds.

On the reverse of 2011 1/2 oz Proof American Gold Eagles is a design you won’t find on any other American coin. This vision of American bald eagles was created by Miley Busiek in 1986.
