The America the Beautiful series from the United States Mint celebrates iconic and historic landscapes and monuments throughout the nation. The 2011 5 oz ATB Glacier silver coin represents the entry into the series for the state of Montana and features Glacier National Park.
This 2011 5 oz ATB Glacier silver quarter is rated NGC MS69 ER. That means it is one of the early releases of this coin mintage and that the coin itself presents full original luster with no more than a couple of minor defects. The reverse side of this silver quarter is gorgeous. It starts up close with the image of a mountain goat scaling the slopes in Glacier National Park. In the background, Mount Reynolds rises toward the sky, standing tall above the forest. Inscriptions on the reverse indicate the state—Montana—and minting year—2011. There's also an inscription of the word glacier over the top of the design.
The America the Beautiful quarter program started in 2010 with minting through 2021. From 2010 to 2020, five designs were released. In 2021, the final design in the series was released. There are a total of 56 designs representing all 50 states, five US territories and the District of Columbia.
