Individual 1/2 oz coins were capped at 15,000 coins and the set had a cap of 39,000 coins. The 1/2 oz Proof Gold Eagles for individual sale were the second coins to sell out in the Proof Gold Eagle range in 2010.
On the obverse of 2010 1/2 oz Proof American Gold Eagle is the image of Lady Liberty. Her figure is depicted walking with her torch aloft in her right hand and an olive branch in her left hand.
The reverse face of 2010 Proof American Gold Eagles includes a design of American bald eagles. In this imagery, the male eagle is depicted flying above the nest as a female within the nest guards a hatchling.
