The America the Beautiful Series from the United States Mint debuted in 2010. Among the first five designs to feature in this series were many western states featuring sites that are the oldest national parks and national forests in the US. Right now, 2010-P 5 oz Burnished ATB Grand Canyon Silver Coins are available to purchase online from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
Each 2010-P 5 oz Burnished ATB Grand Canyon Silver Coin in this listing comes to you with a presentation case from the United States Mint. Your purchase includes a Certificate of Authenticity from the US Mint as well and there is a “P” mint mark on the obverse of the coin near the neck of President George Washington.
Burnished ATB Silver Coins have distinctive visuals when compared to the bullion version of the coin. While the bullion coins have shinier visuals, the burnished coins have a matte appearance. This a result of the burnished coin process that takes greater care in the production of the coins. The blanks are burnished in a barrel with a polishing medium. Each coin is removed one at a time by gloved hands, struck in the coin press, and removed by gloved hands for packaging.
2010-P 5 oz Burnished ATB Grand Canyon Silver Coins have obverse designs inspired by the circulating quarter. This left-profile portrait of President George Washington is a modernized version of the one John Flanagan created in 1932 for the quarter. His design was chosen for the quarter to mark Washington’s 200th birthday.
The reverse side of 2010 Burnished ATB Grand Canyon Silver Coin bears the image of Marble Canyon. The Grand Canyon is a massive gorge in the Colorado River and is considered one of the great Wonders of the World. In February 2019, the park celebrated its 100th anniversary as a national park.
