The Queen is shown here in right-profile relief without a crown on her head, one of the few effigies of Elizabeth II to lack a crown. This design was created in 2003 by Susanna Blunt and began appearing on Canadian Maples in 2004.
The reverse side of the 2010 1 oz Silver Maple Leaf Coin comes with the iconic sugar maple leaf. Created in 1979 by Walter Ott, this image of the sugar maple leaf offers a natural, front-facing look at Canada’s iconic emblem.
