From 1997 to 2012, the Royal Mint followed a unique pattern in the release of its Silver Britannia coins. Starting with the 1998 design, and continuing in even-numbered years, the image of Britannia was one that captured a standing figure. Odd-numbered years from 1999 onward ad a series of different Britannia depicts with non-repeating effigies of the allegorical figure in a standing relief.
