These coins are produced by the Perth Mint, the last and final remaining colonial branch of the United Kingdom’s Royal Mint in Australia. The other two, the Sydney Mint and Melbourne Mint, have since closed. The Perth Mint is now under the authority of the state government of Western Australia.
