Each of the 2009 1/10 oz Proof Mexican Gold Libertad Coins offered here comes in a protective plastic capsule. The coins come with frosted devices and mirrored background fields. The mintage of 600 coins in the 1/10 oz weight. This mintage matched the production level of the 1/20 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1 oz coins. The 1/4 oz coin had the highest mintage in 2009 with a total of 1,700 coins.
Mexican Gold Libertads were introduced in 1981 in BU and in 1983 with Proof coins. The production of the coins was limited until the 2000s, with the Proof Gold Libertad not returning, after a 1989 release, until 2004. The series includes 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz, and 1/20 oz gold coins.
The obverse of these 2009 Proof Mexican Gold Libertads comes with a depiction of the Mexican coat of arms. The national seal consists of a golden eagle in left-profile relief on a prickly pear cactus with a snake in its beak.
On the reverse of 2009 1/10 oz Proof Gold Libertad Coins is a depiction of Winged Victory. This design is inspired by the Mexican Independence Victory Column in Mexico City. Winged Victory is the female allegory at the top, who is inspired by the Greek goddess Nike, the goddess of victory.
