Produced in 2008 by the Royal Canadian Mint, the 2008 1 oz Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coin is now available in brilliant uncirculated (BU) condition. Each coin weighs 1 troy ounce and has been minted in .9999 fine silver. These coins also have a legal tender status of $5 in Canada. To protect each coin’s condition they will be shipped in a protective sleeve or their original tubes.

In 2008, the Royal Canadian Mint produced approximately 7,909,161 total uncirculated maple leaf silver bullion coins which, at the time, was a record. Each 2008 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coin contains the image of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. Above the queens side profile image is her name “Elizabeth II.” Below her are the coin’s face value and minting year which read “5 Dollars 2008.”
On each coin’s reverse side a maple leaf is depicted at the center with the purity “9999” listed on both the right and left side. Above the finely wrought maple leaf image is the nation’s name “Canada.” Listed along the bottom of the coin is the metal type which is written in both English and French along with the weight. This information reads “Fine Silver 1 oz Argent Pur.”
