Coin Highlights:
Each 2007 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle Coin available here at JM Bullion comes to you with a protective plastic flip for delivery. The 2007 release of the coins came just one year after the 20th anniversary of the series and, generally speaking, experienced a downturn in demand compared to the celebratory date from one year prior.
With a mintage of only 34,004 coins in the 1/4 oz Gold Eagle issue, the 2007 release marked the lowest mintage in the history of the 1/4 oz Gold Eagle to date. The next closest mintage prior to 2007 was the 1991 release that sold a total of 36,100 coins. In fact, the 2007 release of the 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle remains the lowest-minted date mark as of 2021.
Lady Liberty is on the obverse side of 2007 American Gold Eagle Coins. This iconic design was created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens for the $20 Gold Double Eagle and featured on that coin through 1933. This full-length portrait of Liberty captures her figure in front-facing relief as she strides away from Washington D.C.
An American bald eagle family is featured in the reverse design of 2007 1/4 oz Gold Eagle Coins. This design was created exclusively for this series in 1986 by Miley Busiek and offers an image of a male eagle soaring over a family nest with hatchlings and female eagle inside.
