Ian Rank-Broadley designed this image for the Royal Mint in 1998, evidenced by his initials below the portrait.
All 2005 1 oz Silver Britannia Coin feature Britannia. This image features her sitting down with her trident in one hand and her shield in the other. This image is similar to that used on halfpennies and farthings from 1672. Identifying marks of the coin surround this unique image.
