Each year since 1986, the US Mint has offered special Proof Gold Eagles to collectors. These specific coins were struck in 2004 at the US Mint’s facility in West Point, NY and have since been certified by the PCGS as being perfect PR70 coins. They were also assigned a DCAM or “Deep Cameo” designation.

The Deep Cameo designation is given to coins that have frosted devices atop a clear, and mirrored background field.
