Out of the 9,684,356 Silver Eagles minted in 2004, only 107,897 have been certified as an MS69 grade by NGC.
In 2004, the United States Mint released 9,684,356 American Silver Eagle Coins. Of this original lot, around 107,897 of them have been certified with an MS69 (Mint State of 69) grade by the NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Corporation). Coins graded at this caliber are in near perfect condition with their original luster intact. No scuffs or hairline marks are visible on an MS69 coin. Although it may have one or two contact marks, none will be visible on the main focal points. To protect their certified condition, all coins are individually packed in their NGC certified cases.
Each American Silver Eagle Coin was minted from 1 troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver by the United States Mint. The high level of craftsmanship is also demonstrated by the skillful engraving of every intricate design detail. On the front of the coin appears Lady Liberty with one arm grasping a bundle of branches and the other one extended outward in a welcoming gesture toward the rising sun. The reverse side is stamped with the Great Seal of the United States, which depicts a bald eagle as it clutches an olive branch and set of arrows in its talons from behind a shield.
