As the silver market moved into the 21st century, the Proof American Silver Eagle saw its mintage levels rising. After the series hit a record low in 1994, the mintage for the coins began to slowly climb through the latter half of the 1990s and into the first half of the 2000s. Today, near-perfect 2001-W 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle Coins are available to you online from JM Bullion.

Between 1997 and 2006, the United States Mint saw the demand for its Proof American Silver Eagles rise year-over-year. Each of the date marks during this 10-year period saw a rise in demand, with the exception of the 2002 coin. The 2001 coin had a mintage of 746,398 coins. That represented a gain of more than 146,000 coins from the 2000 issue. This gain from 2000 to 2001 was, at the time, the highest year-over-year gain in the history of the series.
All of the 2001-W 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle Coins are available to you for purchase in near-perfect condition. Coins with a PR69 grade have full, original mint luster and a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. Examples of acceptable flaws at this grade level are limited to minuscule contact marks or hairlines and must be located outside of the primary focal points of the coin.
On the obverse of 2001 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle Coins is a depiction of Walking Liberty. This design features Liberty walking in left-profile relief toward the sun on the horizon as it crests over a mountain. Included in the image are the American flag around her figure and branches of oak and laurel in her left hand.
The reverse side of 2001-W Proof American Silver Eagles is the modern depiction of the heraldic eagle of the United States. This design was created by John Mercanti in 1986 for this series and is the latest iteration of a design first created in 1795 by Robert Scot. In the image, the bald eagle is set in front-facing relief with the US national shield on its chest, the arrows of war in one talon, the olive branch of peace in the other, and a triangular cluster of 13 stars over the eagle’s head.
