The snake finished 6th and as such is the 6th animal in the zodiac.

A lunar snake is present on the reverse of the 2001 1/2 oz Australian Lunar Snake Coin. The snake is seen in the middle of the reverse. The snake is seen protecting some eggs, as baby snakes start to hatch out of them. The traditional Chinese character for the snake appears on the right.
