Coin Highlights:
Each of the 2000 1 oz Fireworks Privy Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coins in this product listing comes to you with an individual protective plastic flip. The Royal Canadian Mint issued these coins with a Fireworks Privy mark, the second such use of this privy mark by the mint. Dual-dated 1999-2000 Canadian Maple Leafs were also issued with a Fireworks Privy mark.
Both of these issues of the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf with a Fireworks Privy mark featured the same privy design. However, there was a small distinction between the two that was visible even among the 2000 Canadian Silver Maple Leafs. The dual-date coins did not have the “1999-2000” date mark inside of the privy oval, while these 2000 1 oz Fireworks Privy Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coins do have the “2000” date mark inside of that oval.
On the obverse side of 2000 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coins in this listing is the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is shown here in right-profile relief with the George IV State Diadem Crown shown on her head. This is the third-generation design of Elizabeth II and debuted on Canadian coins in 1990. It was designed that year by Dora de Pedery-Hunt, the first Canadian artist ever to create a monarch portrait for RCM coins.
The reverse face of the 2000 1 oz Fireworks Privy Canadian Silver Maple Leaf features a depiction of the sugar maple leaf. This image of the sugar maple leaf was designed in 1979 by Walter Ott and has featured on all versions of the Canadian Maple Leaf bullion series, including the gold, silver, platinum, and palladium coins.
