In 1996, Perth Mint introduced the Lunar Series I program for investors and collectors. Originally, the coins were predominantly available as gold bullion specimens, though these 1 oz silver options eventually joined the collection and became a staple through subsequent series.
All of these 2000 1 oz Australian Silver Lunar Dragon Coins are available to you with individual packaging. The coins are housed in protective plastic capsules and feature a mintage of 118,697 coins. Perth Mint typically sets a mintage cap on its 1 oz silver coins, while using an unlimited mintage for each design release in the other weights.
On the obverse of 2000 Australian Silver Lunar Dragon Coins, you will find the image of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is shown here in right-profile relief in the popular design from Ian Rank-Broadley. In this portrait from 1998, the image shows the Queen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara.
The reverse side of the 2000 1 oz Silver Lunar Dragon comes with an image of a Chinese dragon. In this design, the dragon slithers along the field and is coiled in a circle as it reaches for a flaming pearl with the talons on one of its front feet.
