Scottsdale Mint has introduced new weights in its Gold Cast Bar collection. These stunning gold bars are produced using traditional casting techniques and feature beautiful, stamped markings identifying the weight, purity, and metal content of each bar. The largest of these new weights is the 20 oz gold bar, and it is accompanied by new 10 oz, 5 oz, and 1 oz gold bars as well. Right now, 20 oz Scottsdale Mint Cast Gold Bars are available at JM Bullion.
Bar Highlights:
Each 20 oz Scottsdale Mint Cast Gold Bar is available here with protective plastic for delivery. This bar is the second-largest bar in the series, behind only the 1 Kilo cast bar. Cast gold bars have stamped engravings and often showcase a more rustic finish than their minted ingot counterparts.
Most cast gold bars are produced through a traditional molding process where molten gold is poured into pre-formed molds, typically made of graphite, steel, or ceramic materials. The gold is heated to approximately 1,948°F (1,064°C) until it reaches a liquid state, then carefully poured into the mold cavities. This casting method allows for the creation of bars in various sizes and weights, from small fractional ounces to large kilogram bars.
The obverse of the 20 oz Scottsdale Mint Cast Gold Bar comes with identifying hallmarks arranged in portrait orientation. The Scottsdale Lion, a large male lion with a crown on his head, is set at the top of the field. In descending order down the bar’s field, you’ll find the weight, purity, and metal content of the bar. On the reverse, the bar is blank.
