Each 2 oz Sekhmet Silver Round in this listing comes from the Egyptian Gods Series and has been certified as a near-perfect specimen by the NGC. Mint State 69 silver rounds exhibit full, original mint luster and come with no more than two minor detracting flaws. These flaws are limited in nature to minuscule contact marks or hairlines and must be located outside of the primary focal points of the coin.
When the Egyptian Gods Series was originally introduced, the collection ran for a total of four releases. The designs were all created by Heidi Wastweet. After a pause in production that lasted several years, the collection resumed with the release of the Osiris design. Once again, Heidi Wastweet is onboard as the designer of note for the new images.
The obverse of the 2 oz Sekhmet Silver Round is a depiction of the goddess of war in the religion of Ancient Egypt. Sekhmet is shown in a seated position with a curved blade behind her back that is dripping in blood. In addition to being the goddess of war, she is the destroyer of all enemies of Ra, the sun god.
On the reverse side of 2 oz Sekhmet Silver Rounds is the image of Sekhmet in her animal form. Most Egyptian gods are depicted in Egyptian hieroglyphs in both a human form and an animal form. In the human form on the obverse, Sekhmet has the head of a cat. In her animal form on this side of the round, you will find the full animal form of Sekhmet as a seated cat.
The 2 oz silver rounds in the Egyptian Gods Series come with a high-relief strike. This creates greater 3D relief on the design strike with enhanced visual depth in the background field.
