The Day of the Dead is a Mexican celebration of life and death. Commonly referred to as Dia de los Muertos, that terminology is actually a back-translation of the English-language phrase for the holiday. The original Spanish-language phrase was Dia de Muertos.
In Mexico, the Day of the Dead is a public holiday and, culturally speaking, is a time for families to come together and celebrate the lives of those members of the family who have already passed into the afterlife. An important part of the celebration focuses on prayer for those who have died in support of their spiritual journey.
The Monarch Day of the Dead Skull Bar brings one of the central symbols of the celebration to life on a brilliant 3D design. The obverse side of the bar features a Sugar Skull design finish. The sugar skull has long been used in Day of the Dead celebrations, with families actually crafting decorative, edible human skulls out of sugar.
On the reverse side of the Day of the Dead Skull Bar you’ll find engravings that have been hand-stamped into the bar’s surface. These include the familiar Monarch Precious Metals corporate logo, interlocking M’s and P’s that form a crown, along with the weight, metal content, and purity of the bar.
All Monarch Precious Metal products are hand-poured for a unique finish to each product, and a rustic appearance reminiscent of traditional refining techniques. Further enhancing the beauty of their products, Monarch hand stamps all engravings.
Monarch Precious Metals is a private refinery founded in southern Oregon’s Rogue Valley in 2008. All of its silver and gold products have a minimum fineness of .999, and its diverse lineup of products continues to grow and enhance the popularity of its products.

“This is MUCH cooler than the photo let’s on!
It is a nice piece of ‘pocket silver.’ I carry it because I will always have some money on me that isn’t easily spent. I tossed a couple into the console of my car, just for emergencies.
Again, it’s a pretty cool piece!”
