The Germanic Gods Series is the second collection of mythological figures to feature on cast silver bars. Each bar has a colorized image on the reverse with stamped hallmarks on the reverse. The release of the Tyr design is the second in a planned series of six silver bars, with each bar boasting its own serial number.
Tyr, also spelled Týr or Tiw in Old English, is one of the principal gods in Norse mythology. He is often associated with war, bravery, and single combat, but his most prominent role is that of a god of law and justice. Tyr is depicted as a one-handed god, having sacrificed his hand to bind the monstrous wolf Fenrir, illustrating his commitment to upholding order and justice even at great personal cost.
