Round Highlights:
The silver rounds of the Egyptian Gods Series are available to purchase in both Brilliant Uncirculated versions and a collectible antique version with impressive visuals. The antique version comes with a special polish that is applied to help create old-world visuals for the finished item. Generally, an antique polish gives the patina of age to something that is brand new, while also helping to highlight the intricate details of the piece.
In addition to the antique polish on these particular 2 oz Sekhmet Silver Rounds, you will notice that the designs have been struck in high relief. A high-relief design creates improved 3D relief on the design strike, while also delivering greater visual depth for the background field.
Obverse designs on the 2 oz Antique Sekhmet Silver Round include the human form Sekhmet takes in Ancient Egypt. She was often depicted with the body of a woman and the head of either a lioness or a cat. The image shown here reflects her status as a warrior goddess as she sits near a fire with a curved blade behind her back that has shed the blood of her enemies.
Reverse visuals on the 2 oz Antique Sekhmet Silver Round capture her animal form. Most of the gods and goddesses of Ancient Egypt were associated with human and animal forms. Though the human form often included an animal head, the full animal form was also used. In this particular design, Sekhmet is shown as a feline seated on an altar with a pyramid in the background field.
These 2 oz Antique Sekhmet Silver Rounds have near-perfect certifications from the NGC. Mint State 69 specimens showcase full, original mint luster with a maximum of two minor flaws. Examples of these flaws include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines that must be located outside the primary focal points of the round.
