Mother’s Day is an official holiday in the United States that occurs each year on the second Sunday of May. This is one of the most important days of the year, as it allows each of us to express our utmost love and gratitude for the mothers in our lives. In honor of this beloved holiday, the Merrick Mint has produced a brand-new Mother’s Day-themed note. Today, $2 Happy Mother’s Day Legal Tender Notes are available to you online at JM Bullion.
Note Highlights:
Mother’s Day came about thanks to the tireless efforts of the activist Anna Jarvis. She was greatly inspired by her own mother, who had formed social groups to promote friendship and interaction between women. After her mother died in 1907, she began encouraging a day for all mothers that would be recognized by the entire country. Her efforts were met with incredible support, and by 1914, President Woodrow Wilson declared Mother’s Day a national holiday.
Each $2 Happy Mother’s Day Note is delivered to you inside a protective blue folio. On the right side of the booklet, you will find the $2 bill, and on the left side a special Mother’s Day design as well as a Certificate of Authenticity from the Merrick Mint.
The obverse of $2 Mother’s Day Legal Tender Notes features a portrait of Thomas Jefferson in the center. Using proprietary methods, the Merrick Mint has applied beautiful flower arrangements to the background. Also, you will see the words Happy Mother’s Day at the top.
On the reverse side of the Happy Mother’s Day Legal Tender Note is a recreation of the famous 1818 Declaration of Independence oil painting. This incredible piece of art was completed by John Trumbull over a thirty-year period. It features Founding Fathers such as Benjamin Franklin and John Adams as they present a draft of the Declaration of Independence to John Hancock. This historical moment occurred on June 28th, 1776. The following week, the Declaration was signed.
