Each of the 1999 1/10 oz Proof American Gold Eagle Coins in this product listing comes to you with a perfect certification of PF70 from the NGC. Coins in this condition exhibit full, original mint luster with no detracting flaws present on either the surface area or design elements of the coin.
The included UCAM label denotes the proof coins as ultra-cameo specimens. The coins in this listing, therefore, have strong, frosted matte design elements present which contrast with the deeply-mirrored, clear background field.
1999 1/10 oz Proof American Gold Eagle Coins gained the most in terms of mintage for the year. While the other three weights gained somewhere between 5,000 and 6,000 in mintage, the 1/10 oz Proof Gold Eagle shot up by just under 10,000 coins from the previous release in 1998.
On the obverse of all Proof American Gold Eagle Coins is the image of Lady Liberty. This particular design was created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. He had been approached by President Theodore Roosevelt personally in 1905 to help lead a push to redesign all American coinage for the 20th century.
The reverse side of the 1999 1/10 oz Proof American Gold Eagle Coins includes the design of American bald eagles from Miley Busiek. In this design, a male eagle is shown flying over the family nest with a branch in its talons. Within the nest, a female eagle offers shelter to hatchlings under her wings.
