Her meticulously rendered cape of stars billows behind her and she is encircled by the word LIBERTY. The words In God We Trust are inscribed to the right.
The reverse side of the coin exhibits a heraldic eagle behind a protective shield. An olive branch is clasped in its right claw, while arrows are held in its left claw. The eagle holds a banner in its beak inscribed with the words E PLURIBUS UNUM. It has thirteen five-pointed stars above its head, and it is surrounded by the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, 1 OZ.
