With the U.S. Capitol Building at her feet in the background and sun rays on the horizon behind her, Liberty strides forward with a ring of 50 stars surrounding the entire design element.

The design shown here was unique to the American Gold Eagle Series and was created in 1986 by Miley Busiek. The visual shows a male eagle soaring above a nest that contains a female bald eagle and young hatchlings.
