Designed by John Mercanti in 1986, this image shows the bald eagle in front-facing relief with the US national shield on its chest. The eagle’s talons clutch the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace, while a cluster of 13 stars features overhead.

The 1995-W Proof Silver Eagle was a unique offering from the United States Mint 1995. The US Mint issued its standard 1995-P Proof Silver Eagles at the Philadelphia Mint, but issued only a limited number of these 1995-W Proof Silver Eagle Coins. These particular specimens were only available at the time as part of a 10th-anniversary, five-coin set that included 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz Proof Gold Eagles.
