The Proof American Gold Eagle is offered by the United States Mint on an annual basis. Since its introduction in 1986, the 1 oz gold coin in the series has missed only the 2009 date mark when all collectible coinage was temporarily suspended at the mint. Now, 1995-W 1 oz Proof American Gold Eagle Coins are available to you for purchase online in certified condition at JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
In 1995, the United States Mint marked the 10th anniversary of its American Eagle bullion coins in the silver and gold collections. This included the usual array of BU and Proof coins, with the Gold Eagle Series offering all four weights common in the series.
The 1995 release was unique in the Proof Gold Eagle Series in that the 1 oz gold coin was nearly the lowest-minted weight among the four. It was just 900 coins higher than the 1/2 oz gold coin and roughly 900 coins below the 1/4 oz gold coin. The 1/10 oz coin finished with the highest mintage and was some 16,000 coins higher than the 1 oz gold coin.
Lady Liberty is on the obverse of the 1995-W Proof American Gold Eagle. This front-facing relief of Liberty’s full-length figure with a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other was created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens.
American bald eagles are found in the reverse design of the 1995 1 oz Proof Gold Eagle Coin. Miley Busiek created this visual of a family of bald eagles in and around the nest in 1986 exclusively for this series.
These 1995-W 1 oz Proof American Gold Eagle Coins have near-perfect certifications. The coins showcase full, original mint luster and a maximum of two flaws. Those detractions include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines located outside the primary focal points. DCAM coins are deep-cameo proofs with strong, frosted designs and deeply-mirrored, clear fields.
