In 1982, the Mexican Mint issued the Mexican Silver Libertad for the first time. The official silver bullion series of Mexico, this collection has gone through several major and minor design changes over the course of its history, with four different types issued since 1982. Now, 1995 1 oz Mexican Silver Libertad Coins are available to you for purchase online at JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
In total, there are four so-called types of the Mexican Silver Libertad that have been issued since 1982. The Type I and Type II coins offered minor design changes, while the Type III and Type IV coins had more significant changes to the reverse and obverse designs, respectively.
The 1995 release falls in the narrow line for Type II issues, with only five date marks in the Type II series. Among those, the 1995 Silver Libertad was the last Type II design. The differentiation between Type I and Type II coins is minute and is best seen in the change from onza and plata pura to OnZa and PLaTA PuRA inscriptions on the reverse.
Obverse design elements on the 1995 Mexican Silver Libertad include the image of the Mexican coat of arms. Here, the golden eagle is perched on a prickly pear cactus in left-profile relief as it battles with a serpent.
Reverse visuals on 1995 1 oz Silver Libertad Coins feature the front-facing image of Winged Victory. This design reflects the original 1921 design from the gold Centenario coin and depicts Victory with powerful wings, a wreath in her outstretched hand, and broken chains in the hand at her side.
These 1995 1 oz Mexican Silver Libertad Coins are available to you in individual protective capsules and had a set mintage of 500,000 coins for the year.
