Out of the 211,633 total One Ounce American Gold Eagles minted in 1994 only 181 (W) coins have been certified as a PR70 DCAM grade by the PCGS.
As the official gold coin of the United States, it’s only fitting for the American Gold Eagle to bear images representative of the country’s values. The bald eagle is the national emblem, and symbolizes longevity and majesty. Lady Liberty represents freedom and justice. Both appear on the American Gold Eagle. Right now the 1994-W 1 oz American Gold Eagle is available as a perfect proof specimen from JM Bullion.

Each of the 1994-W 1 oz American Gold Eagle coins in this product listing is a perfect proof specimen according to the PCGS. Coins with a PR70 grade have their full, original mint luster, and feature no detracting flaws of any kind.
A deep-cameo finish refers to the contrasting appearance of the design set and background field. The design features of the coin have a strong, frosted finish, while the background is deeply-mirrored and clear.
On the obverse of each coin you’ll find the image of Lady Liberty. Created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, Liberty is featured walking forward into the unknown with the nation’s capital visible at her feet. The torch in her right hand is held high to guide the way, as the sun’s rays outline her body from behind.
The reverse features the image of a male bald eagle flying over the family nest. Down below a female watches over the hatchlings in the nest. Miley Busiek created this image in 1986, and it is used exclusively on the American Gold Eagle.
American Gold Eagle coins were originally available in bullion with four weights, and just one weight in proof. Today, the program consists of four weights and three versions, with fractional weights added to the proof series in 1987 and 1988, and a burnished series added in 2006.
