The Proof American Silver Eagle is one of the most coveted collectible silver coins in the world. Introduced in 1986 by the US Mint’s San Francisco branch, the Proof Silver Eagle has been issued since then by three of the four branch mints. Today, 1993-P 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle Coins are available in perfect condition online at JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
When the Proof Silver Eagle debuted in 1986, the coin was struck by the San Francisco Mint with an S mint mark. This continued through 1992, with the 1993 release the first in the series at its new home at the Philadelphia Mint. The Philadelphia Mint would strike the Proof Silver Eagle with P mint marks through 2000, with production shifting to the West Point Mint as of 2001.
All of these 1993-P 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle Coins are available online in perfect condition. The coins are housed in slabs and have full, original mint luster with no detractions present. The DCAM designation is for deep-cameo proofs, or coins that have strong, frosted designs and deeply-mirrored, clear fields.
On the obverse of 1993-P Proof American Silver Eagles is Walking Liberty. Designed in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman, this visual shows Liberty’s figure in left-profile relief draped in the American flag as she walks toward the sun on the horizon.
The reverse side of the 1993-P 1 oz Proof Silver Eagle Coin comes with a depiction of the heraldic eagle. This design was modernized in 1986 for the Silver Eagle by John Mercanti. It features the bald eagle in front-facing relief behind the US national shield. The eagle clutches the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace.
