Featuring the well-known designs of Walking Liberty by Adolph A. Weinman, and the heraldic eagle by John Mercanti, these American Silver Eagles are a must-have for collectors and investors alike. To this day, they remain among the most popular coin programs in the world. JM Bullion happily announces that 1991-S 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle Coins are for purchase today.
Coin Highlights:
The obverse feature of all 1991-S 1 oz Proof Silver Eagles showcases the striking depiction of Walking Liberty designed by Adolph A. Weinman. This image features Liberty confidently striding toward a sunset on the left of the coin. The American flag is beautifully draped over her.
1991-S Proof American Silver Eagles feature John Mercanti’s modernized depiction of the heraldic eagle on the reverse. This modern version displays the bald eagle with its wings spread and the nation’s shield on its chest. 13 five-point stars are above the eagle’s head. Identifying marks of the coin are featured around this design.
All 1991-S 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagles come packaged in an NGC protective plastic slab. These proofs are graded PF69 which indicates that they’re in near-perfect condition with full, original mint luster and no more than two minor detractions. The UCAM designation shows that these proofs have strong, frosted design elements with deeply mirrored clear background fields.
Shortly after experiencing a record-low mintage for proofs at the time, the series moved to the Philadelphia Mint just a few years later. While there were 7.7 million American Siler Eagles struck in 1991, only a little over 500,000 were proof versions.
