The English Angel gold coin was first issued by the Kingdom of England in 1465. The coins debuted during the reign of the Yorkist monarch King Edward IV. The Isle of Man Series of Angel Gold Coins borrows this design concept, but represents the monarch in a different manner on the obverse.
