The Chinese Gold Panda Series is one of the most remarkable gold bullion collections available to investors. In 1985, the Chinese Mint featured a design showcasing the playful nature of panda cubs. At birth, panda cubs are exceptionally helpless creatures that have pink skin, are blind, and weigh roughly 100 grams. However, panda cubs develop quickly and often showcase unique, playful personalities as they mature.
All 1985 1/4 oz Chinese Gold Panda Coins are available here in sealed plastic pouches. The 1985 issue was just the fourth in the Gold Panda Series to date and featured its own, unique design that had not been used in previous years and has not been replicated in the decades since. As of 2016, the 1/4 oz Gold Panda is issued as the 8 Gram Gold Panda.
On the obverse of 1985 Chinese Gold Pandas, you will find an image of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. This building is the central structure within the larger Temple of Heaven Complex, a Taoist religious site located in south-central Beijing that was constructed in the first two decades of the 15th century.
The reverse of the 1986 1/4 oz Gold Panda Coin comes with a depiction of a playful young panda cub swinging from a thin bamboo shoot. Panda cubs are mobile around the age of five or six months. Once mobile, cubs tend to engage in near-constant play such as swinging from bamboo, rolling down hills, or wrestling with siblings.
