In 1916, the United States Mint introduced a half-dollar coin design known as Walking Liberty. Created by Adolph A. Weinman, this stunning vision of Liberty featured on the coins from 1916 to 1947 and is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful coin designs in American history. Coin Highlights:
From the first silver coins issued by the United States Mint in the 1790s to the 1960s, America’s circulating denominations for the dime, quarter, half dollar, and dollar contained actual silver content. This included the popular 20th-century design of the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. Each coin had 90% silver with 10% copper for durability when being handled in circulation. In 1964, the US Mint issued these denominations with silver for the final time before switching to a cupro-nickel alloy.

These coins are Mint State 63 specimens that have slightly impaired mint luster, numerous small contact marks, a small number of heavier contact marks, and small hairlines that may be visible without the aid of magnification.
On the obverse of 1945 Walking Liberty Half Dollars is a depiction of Lady Liberty. This full-length relief shows Liberty from the left side as she walks toward the sun on the horizon holding out her right hand. Draped in the American flag, she carries a cluster of oak and laurel branches in her left hand.
The reverse side of 1945-D Walking Liberty Silver Half Dollars comes with a depiction of the American bald eagle. This image of the bald eagle captures the aerial predator perched on a cliff ledge with its wings flexed and its talons clutching a small sapling.
