The United States Mint introduced the Peace Silver Dollar in 1921, the same year it issued the final Morgan Silver Dollars. The introduction of the Peace Dollar marked the start of the final silver dollar program in US history. When the Peace Silver Dollar program ended in 1935, silver dollar production ended with it. Now, 1935 Peace Silver Dollar Coins are available online from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
In the obverse design of the 1935 Peace Silver Dollar, the US Mint features a design from Anthony de Francisci. This final Silver Dollar image of Lady Liberty offers a depiction of the female allegory in left-profile relief with a radiant crown of light. The field includes the national motto and a date mark.
For the reverse side of 1935 Peace Dollar Coins, de Francisci created an image of the American bald eagle at rest. The design was inspired by the nation’s desire for peace after World War I. The eagle is shown perched on an olive branch with its wings resting at its side. The eagle gazes off into the distance where rays of light emerge from the edge of the coin’s design.
The Peace Silver Dollar was introduced as a result of the Pittman Act from 1918. This act authorized the collection and melting of 350 million silver dollars to convert into silver bullion that was later sold to Great Britain. The 1935 date was the final issue of Peace Dollars, with Philadelphia issuing 1.576 million coins and San Francisco issuing 1.964 million coins.
These 1935 Peace Silver Dollar Coins are available to you in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. In total, the US Mint struck Peace Dollars from 1921 to 1928, and again in 1934 and 1935. In this listing, individual coins arrive in plastic flips and multiples arrive in tubes of 20, if available.
