The US Mint introduced the Peace Silver Dollar in 1921, the same year the Morgan Dollar series concluded. This new coin program became the final silver dollar design ever issued by the Mint. The series ran until 1935, marking the end of an era for US silver dollar production. Today, 1926 Peace Silver Dollar Coins are available from JM Bullion.

Throughout the Peace Dollar program’s history, three branch mints contributed to the production of the coins. The Philadelphia and San Francisco mints were the most consistent, with Denver also striking the coins in various years. In 1926, Philadelphia struck the lowest volume at 1.939 million coins, while San Francisco led the way by striking 6.98 million coins.
All of these 1926 Peace Silver Dollar Coins are available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The Peace Dollar series was minted from 1921 to 1928 and resumed in 1934 and 1935. Individual coins arrive in protective plastic flips, with multiples packaged in tubes of 20 if available.
Anthony de Francisci’s design graces the obverse of the 1926 Peace Dollar Coin, featuring a left-profile portrait of Lady Liberty. She wears a radiant crown of light, symbolizing enlightenment and hope. The field also includes the national motto and the coin’s date.
On the reverse of the 1926 Peace Silver Dollar, you’ll find an eagle at rest, perched on an olive branch. This image, also by de Francisci, reflects the nation’s wish for peace following the end of World War I. Rays of sunlight stretch from the coin’s edge, illuminating the eagle’s view.
