Introduced in late 1921 after silver dollar coining in the United States resumed, the coins feature a design from Anthony de Francisci, whose design was chosen following an artistic competition that included several notable artists from 1920s America. Right now, 1925 Peace Silver Dollar Coins in certified condition are available from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
Each 1925 Peace Silver Dollar Coin available here comes in Mint State 65 condition. Coins with this grade exhibit an attractive, high-quality luster for the age and strike. A few small, scattered contact marks are possible, or two larger marks. Additionally, one or two small patches of hairlines may show on the field of the coin.
The Peace Silver Dollar debuted in December 1921 and replaced the Morgan Silver Dollar design that had been restarted earlier in the year. Peace Silver Dollars were struck in large volumes in the first several years after 1921, with the 1925 Peace Dollar offering a combined mintage of more than 11.7 million coins. Of those 11.7 million coins, the majority were produced by the Philadelphia Mint.
The obverse of 1925 Peace Dollar Coins comes with a depiction of Lady Liberty. The design shows the bust of Liberty in left-profile relief with flowing hair and a towering crown of light on her head. This side of the coin includes the national motto and the date mark.
On the reverse of 1925 Peace Silver Dollars, you’ll find the design that gives the coin its name. This depiction of the bald eagle shows the national symbol perched at rest on a rock with an olive branch in its talons. With its wings at its side, it gazes off toward the horizon as rays of light from the sun fill the field.
