The reverse of the 1924 Peace Dollar is also designed by de Francisci and features a resting bald eagle, symbolizing America's desire for peace after World War I. Perched on an olive branch, the eagle looks out toward the horizon with rays of light radiating in the background.
The 1924 release of Peace Dollar Coins by the United States Mint marked one of the last high-volume years of production. The vast majority of Peace Silver Dollars were produced in the first four years, with the 1924 release featuring more than 13 million coins in total. The vast majority of these came from the Philadelphia Mint, with 11.811 million coins struck by the US Mint’s primary branch. The San Francisco Mint contributed 1.728 million coins.
Available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, these 1924 Peace Silver Dollar Coins were minted as part of a series that was in production between 1921 and 1928, with production resuming briefly in 1934 and 1935.
