With the 1922 release of Peace Dollars, the United States Mint produced the greatest single-year volume of Peace Dollars the program would see in its history. In face, with more than 84.27 million coins struck in 1922, this single year accounted for more Peace Dollars than all of the years from 1924-1928 and 1934-1935 combined. The Philadelphia Mint produced the largest volume in 1922 with 51.737 million coins.
All of these 1922 Peace Silver Dollar Coins come in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The series was struck by the US Mint from 1921 to 1928, with a final run in 1934 and 1935. Coins are available individually in plastic flips, and in tubes of 20 for multiples if available.
Anthony de Francisci’s obverse design for the 1922 Peace Dollar Coin features Lady Liberty in left-profile relief, adorned with a radiant crown of light. The national motto and the year are inscribed alongside her.
On the reverse of 1922 Peace Silver Dollars, de Francisci crafted an image of a bald eagle resting on an olive branch. This design symbolizes the nation's desire for peace after World War I, with the eagle’s calm demeanor and the rays of light rising from the coin’s edge adding to the serene scene.
